A Minimalist Interpretation of the ARKK Lyron

A Minimalist Interpretation of the ARKK Lyron

4 Questions with Ivania Carpio of Love Aesthetics

Ivania Carpio works as an art director, designer, creative consultant. She is a minimalist at heart, yet her basement is filled with found objects that would generally be consider as trash; broken glass, concrete blocks, lots of vintage clothes and chairs. She lives in Rotterdam, The Netherlands with her partner Romeo Pokomasse, their daughter Lois and cat Lucifer. Ivania's blog 'Love Aesthetics' was established in 2008 as one of The Netherlands’ very first style blogs.

ARKK: What can you tell us about your love of sneakers?

Ivania: Sneakers have always been an important element of my wardrobe, a good sneaker brings a look into the right context.  With sneakers on my feet I feel most capable, if that makes sense. Even if I do wear heels, there is always a pair of sneakers in my bag.

ARKK: What were your first impressions of the Lyron?

Ivania: The color combination is exquisite - but I also really love the front part of the shoe, such an important part shape-wise, if you ask me. It is what you see when you look down at your own feet and I really like the shape of running shoes.

ARKK: What can you tell us about the inspiration behind your photo interpretation of the Lyron?

Ivania: What called my attention to these buildings was that their construction is very visible, kind of like the panels of the ARKK Lyron. The iron spikes look so delicate and beautiful while at the same time they are there to repel you, like spikes on roses.  The other building is also made out of metal plating, you can really see the way it is assembled, it reminds me a bit of an airplane.

ARKK: Your blog and Instagram feed are super inspiring, where do you go for inspiration these days?

Ivania: Thank you so much! The name Love Aesthetics already kind of says it, it is about appreciating the visual aspects of life — specially daily life inspires me. Inspiration is all around if you open your eyes to it.
